Anticipation

Anticipation.

There's magic there.

There's danger there.

There's the gamut of emotions, from anxiousness to hope to fear to joy to confusion to exuberance to anger to satisfaction to disappointment.

It's both energizing AND exhausting.

It fills our life's waiting moments, when we are looking forward to something happening or not happening, like so many rain drops seek and find each nook and cranny in a flower bed, an old barn, an unprotected body walking briskly.

It leads to soaring high and dipping low.

It is never neutral.

It accompanies each plan as it's createad, each step toward the realization of that plan, and each moment we think about that plan.

It can rise with the incredible speed of light, for that's how fast a thpought travels inside our brain.

It can be deflated with equal dispatch, for that's the speed of a hope dashed.

It can enlarge our hearts, sharpen our vision, increase our appetities, and sensitize our souls.

It's heuristic - leading us to further exploration.

Mostly, it's omnipresent, and must be dealt with or else.

Or else miss out on one of the most delicious life experiences.
