A burst of sunlight rocketing over the morning landscape.
A chill to the air (47*F) blended with the warmth of the sun.
A breeze to unfurl flags and toussle hair.
A brisk walk to stir the blood.
A bakery visit that yields a fig bar, a chocolate drop, a brownie, and a strawberry bar.
A teapot full of rich Chai tea.
A rambling conversation with a favorite companion.
Hearing music (and if you are lucky, dancing to it), that lifts the soul.
A bit of reading followed by a touch of writing.
A walk through the garden, snipping off tips of sweet, ripened broccoli.
And planting 72 "starter pods" with favorite flower and vegetable seeds (to be kept indoors 'til March).
"How do you know when you are rich?" I once asked my Uncle Mose, when I was still in single digits. "When you have your mornings to yourself," he quipped. ###
